Ingredients
  

Basil Simple Syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves packed

Limoncello Spritz:

  • 2 oz limoncello
  • 1 oz basil simple syrup
  • 4 oz Prosecco
  • Club soda to top
  • Fresh basil leaves and lemon slices for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • Make the Basil Simple Syrup: Start by preparing the basil simple syrup. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and add 1 cup of fresh basil leaves. Let the basil steep for about 30 minutes, then strain the syrup into a clean container. Allow it to cool before using.
  • Mix the Cocktail: In a large wine glass or a highball glass, combine 2 oz of limoncello and 1 oz of basil simple syrup. Add ice cubes to the glass, then pour in 3 oz of chilled Prosecco. Top off the drink with a splash of club soda.
  • Garnish and Serve: Garnish your Basil Limoncello Spritz with a few fresh basil leaves and a slice of lemon. The vibrant green basil and sunny yellow lemon not only add a pop of color but also enhance the drink's fresh flavors.
