Equipment

  • Cast iron Skillet or pan

Ingredients
  

Steak

  • 1 ribeye, top sirlon or cut of your choice about 1-1 ½ inches thick
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp neutral oil

Chopped Salad

  • 1/2 head of chopped lettuce
  • 1/4 cup chopped cucumber
  • 1/4 cup chopped cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 1/8 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/8 cup chopped curly parsley
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta or gorgonzola cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp creamy caesar or vinaigrette dressing

Instructions
 

Steak

  • Bring your steak to room temperature. About 30-45 minutes.
  • Pat steak dry with paper towel
  • Season both sides with salt and pepper and press in the seasoning
  • Rub a little bit of olive oil on both sides to coat
  • Heat your skillet or pan to Medium-High Heat and add in 2 tablespoons of oil
  • When the oil is hot add the steak and cook for 2½-3 minutes on each side for a medium - medium rare steak or 4-5 minutes on each side for a medium-well done steak. Take off heat and let rest for 10 minutes
  • Slice into bite sized pieces

Chopped Salad

  • While the steak is resting, chop all of the vegetables and place in a salad bowl with the crumbled cheese
  • Add lemon juice and dressing over the top and mix to combine.
  • Top with steak and enjoy!
